An overview of Guasha history, tools and ways of working with the Fascia. We spend half a day working with the lower body and some commonly seen issues and the other half on the upper body. Technique and ergonomics will be a focus as you learn to incorporate tool-assisted techniques into your usual practice.
Course participants will complete Day 1 with a thorough knowledge of Guasha and safe technique and with a certificate of completion that certifies you as a Guasha Practitioner for Insurance purposes under your Licence to Touch. (applies only to licensed health professionals)
This course will provide instruction in advanced myofascial techniques for the facial muscles and the muscle and fascial attachments down the anterior cervical area and along the clavicle. The techniques taught will be based on the John F Barnes style of fascial work and on TCM guasha therapy.
Course participants will have a prerequisite knowledge of basic fascial work and of the anatomy of the face and neck. They will also be expected to be familiar with Guasha technique from the level 1 course that I offer, or by coming for a private treatment with me to cover the basics. (Please ask if in doubt about prior learning)
I'll show you specific techniques for all the major problem areas for Fascial Restrictions
Many Healthcare Professionals use the same techniques over and over again and often this leads to stagnation in the recovery process as our body gets accustomed to the treatment. Guasha boosts the healing processes of the body and increases blood flow and reduces stagnation of fluids and cellular waste products.

Hi Ailsa, i just wanted to share with you the continued astounding experiences that I, and clients have with the kind of touch/bodywork I learned with you. It amazes me every time. A client today experienced what sounded/seemed/looked (and his debrief matched) like deep and profound love and connection, in a simple touch with no movement (in the way we practiced in your courses). He was moved. Energetic 'stuff' happened. Mind blown. Thank you.
